Paul’s more than 25 years of experience spans several areas including employment claims, environmental claims, personal injury claims (both first party and excess layers), and Workers’ Compensation claims utilizing Medical Set-Aside and special needs trusts.
Experience:
Paul is a veteran of the structured settlement industry, consulting to a variety of clients since 1986. Paul represents all A+ Life Companies to provide top-notch service to an ever-expanding Midwestern clientele. Between the years of 1980–1986, Paul conducted fee-based business and personal financial planning. Prior to that time, 1977–1980, he represented Metropolitan Life Insurance Company, providing his clients life insurance, savings, and retirement planning. Since 1975, Paul has continuously provided Financial Services as President of Hathaway Associates, Inc.
Licenses/Certifications:
Paul holds his Series 6 and 63 securities licenses in Michigan, and his life, health, and disability license in multiple states. He is a Licensed Insurance Counselor (LIC), a Licensed Solicitor for Property & Casualty, and obtained his Certified Structured Settlement Consultant (CSSC) designation from the University of Notre Dame.
Education:
Paul obtained his Bachelor’s of Arts degree in Education from the University of Michigan in 1976 and his Professional Certification in Education from the University of Notre Dame in 1998.
Professional Memberships:
Paul is a member of numerous organizations. He belongs to the National Structured Settlements Trade Association (NSSTA), the Licensed Insurance Counselors Association (LICA), the Professional Risk Managers Association (PRMA), the Michigan Self Insurance Association (MSIA), the Michigan Society of Healthcare Risk Management (MSHRM), and the Michigan Public Risk Management Association (MIPRMA). He is an Associate Member of the Wayne County Probate Bar (WCPBA).
